Client Rights
Your rights as a person receiving treatment from Sober Living Housing includes:
- Filing grievances through the official complaints processes
- Treatment that is culturally sensitive and does not discriminate
- Referral to alternative treatment centres and service providers
- The right to participate in decisions regarding your treatment plan
- Quality care by professional staff throughout your treatment in the program
- Being housed in an environment that is free from sexual exploitation or harassment
- Having your personal information and privacy kept confidential throughout the treatment process
- Communication that is open and in a manner which is understood and clear regarding your treatment at Sober Living Housing
- Access to appropriate treatment, based on the information given in the initial assessment and the holistic needs of the client for the duration of care
- To be treated with respect and dignity around all aspects of beliefs, age, ethnicity, disability, gender, sexual orientation, values and personal characteristics
Expectations
The expectations of clients for the duration of their stay at Sober Living Housing are as follows:
- Participate in addiction education
- To be open and honest in all communication
- To adhere properly to medications prescribed by medical professionals
- Be active in all directions of your personal recovery and treatment process
- To not bully, harass, threaten, or harm any persons physically or psychologically
- To communicate with staff any health concerns or problems whilst in treatment
- To not use alcohol or any other drug substances or participate in gambling activities
- To not damage or take anything without requesting permission from Sober Living Housing or other guests
- To refrain from starting any exclusive, or sexualised relationships whilst in recovery at Sober Living Housing
- To uphold confidentiality of all other guests, family members and significant others that associate with Sober Living Housing
- Participate in all groups, house discussions, and recovery meetings such as AA, NA & GA.
- Abide by Sober Living Housing’s rules and guidelines
